Victoria Village Manor
A special Membership Meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday November 30, 2016. This meeting will take place in the Victoria Village Library at 3:00 pm.
Bargaining proposals will be discussed with the membership. Please plan to attend.
For those members unable to attend due to being on shift during this meeting can request to meet with the executive for information that was discussed at the meeting.
As many of you know, our current Collective Agreement will expire on December 31, 2106. The negotiating committee has met and prepared proposals for the upcoming round of bargaining with Victoria Village Manor.
A special membership meeting (date to be determined) will take place to discuss our planned proposals with the membership prior to negotiations taking place.
We will be meeting with management of Victoria Village Manor on December 12 and 15, 2016 for negotiations.
Any updates will also be posted on the union board in the staff room at Victoria Village Manor.

We are looking to fill positions on our newly formed committees. Current committees seeking members are the social committee, by-law committee as well as the membership support committee. If interested in joining one of these committees, please attend the next General Membership meeting on September 14 at 2:30 in the Victoria Village Library.

On April 28 2016, CUPE locals across Canada will mark the National Day of Mourning.
On this date we mourn the loss of CUPE members whom have been killed on the job.
In the staff room on April 28, you will find a container of yellow ribbons. Please help us mourn the losses of our brothers and sisters by wearing a yellow ribbon on this day.
The Local would like to congratulate sister Jolene Morrow on her new position of Secretary Treasurer as well as sister Kristy Allen-Beverly on her new position as Steward.

In order for our local to have diverse representation of all departments and shifts, we are hoping to have a housekeeping staff or RPN run for the position of Steward or Secretary Treasurer at our next meeting. We currently do not have anyone from these departments as a representative. We would also like to see an evening staff member join the team. If you have any questions, please speak to a member of the executive team.
